Why We Exist
The purpose of our Fellowship is to meet regularly as God’s family to praise, worship and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the community:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3: 16)
As God’s people we “put into practice whatever we have learned or received from God.” (Phil. 4:9)
We give charitable help both locally and to missionaries abroad as God directs us:
“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” (2 Cor. 9:12)
Affiliations: We are part of the Salt & Light family of churches, this means that we are in relationship with other non-denominational churches in B.C. and abroad. To learn more about it, message, call us or come visit us.
Statement of Faith
We believe:
1. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3: 16). The Holy Bible constitutes the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.
2. In one God existing eternally; manifested to man in three persons: a) the Father; b) the Son; c) the Holy Spirit (Matt. 3:16, 1 John 5:7).
a) The Father: “ the creator of Heaven and Earth” ( Gen. 1:1). “ Who put everything under Him so God may be all in all” ( 1 Cor. 15:28).
b) The Son: Jesus Christ (John 1:1-3), “ being in the very nature of God ... being made in human likeness ( a true man) ... died on the cross” ( Phil. 2: 5-11), rose from the dead according to the Scriptures, and now reigns supreme at the right hand of God.
c) The Holy Spirit: the Holy Spirit is also God, performing actions and possessing the attributes of Deity ( Acts 5: 3&4). He was sent to indwell ( John 14: 16& 17); guide and teach ( John 14: 26); and empower the believer ( Acts 1:8); and to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and or judgment ( John 16: 7-11).
3. That Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary ( Matt. 1:18), He died on the cross, the Just for the unjust ( 1 Pet. 3:18), as a substitutionary sacrifice for us. Eternal salvation became ours for ... “ all who believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life” ( John 3 :16). Jesus Christ arose bodily from the dead on the third day, according to the Scriptures ( 1 Cor. 15:3; Acts 13:34), and now sits at the right hand of God as our High Priest ( Heb. 9: 24-28). Since the time of Creation, a Kingdom has been prepared for us in Heaven. The Good News is, our Lord Jesus is coming again to take His believing children back to be with Him for eternity ( Matt. 25: 31-34; John 14: 2 &3).
4. Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God ( Gen. 1: 27); he fell from God’s grace through disobedience incurring both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, and are separated from God, and can be saved only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ ( 1 Cor. 15: 22-23). The destiny of the unrepentant and unbelieving is existence forever in eternal punishment, but that of the believer is to eternal joyous life ( Math. 25: 41,46; 2 Thes. 1: 7-10).
5. Salvation, therefore, has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God ( Titus 3: 5-7, Acts 2: 38).
6. That every Christian is called to a life of discipleship, expressed in learning to walk in obedience of faith in Jesus, in learning to walk in obedience to the Lord’s commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself” (Math. 22: 37- 40). Hence we become a committed member of God’s family.
7. The Holy Spirit is a gift of God to those who believe and obey Him (Acts 5: 32) and we will be sanctified wholly by the Holy Spirit ( 1 Thes. 5: 23), thereby being separated form sin and the power of Satan in the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, receiving power for holy living and effective service ( Acts 1:8).
8. The fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit ( Gal. 5: 22 &23, 1 Cor. 12-14) and the gifts of Christ to the church [apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers (Eph. 4:11)] are important for the growth, protection, purification, and maturity of Christ’s body - the church.
9. Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick (physical, mental, and spiritual) and anointing with oil as taught in the Scriptures are privileges for the church in this present age ( Math. 8: 16& 17; James 5: 14- 16).
10. There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life ( 1 Cor. 15: 20-23); for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment and condemnation (2 Thes. 1: 7-10; John 5: 28-29).
11. The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and the dead in Christ will rise first, the remaining believers will be caught up together with our Lord in the clouds to be with Him forever ( 1 Thes. 4: 16 & 17; Acts 1: 7-11). As the believer’s blessed hope, this vital truth is an incentive for holy living and faithful service. ( Titus 2: 11- 14)
Leadership Team
Justin & Sindy Peters, Pastor / Elder
God brought Justin and Sindy to ACCF in the beginning of July 2021, where they immediately became connected to the people, and knew that this was to be their church. In November 2021, with the approval of the leadership, they bought a travel trailer and parked it on the church property, sold their first home, and Justin gave up his job so their family could serve the church full time in whatever way needed. In February 2023, Justin was asked to be the associate pastor, the in June of 2024 he stepped in as Lead Pastor of the fellowship.
Justin grew up in a Christian home in Summerland, BC, giving his life to the Lord Jesus at a young age, baptized at age 12, and later baptized in the Holy Spirit. He moved to Guatemala in 2007 with his parents as missionaries, where he met Sindy, who grew up in Guatemala in a non-Christian family. Sindy was invited to church by a friend, and later gave her life to the Lord Jesus, was baptized by water and by the Holy Spirit. It was in Guatemala where Justin and Sindy met, translating for missionaries doing medical clinics, and later starting a youth ministry. They served at the mission base working with short term teams, the orphanage and surrounding community, went to Bible school together, and later got married. Their first child was born in Guatemala, and in 2014 the family moved to Lake Country, BC, where Sindy was finally granted permanent residency in Canada. Their other two children were born in Canada.
God has called Justin and Sindy to build His church and to lay down a strong foundation. They come alongside people, strengthening and encouraging them to walk in the calling that God has placed in their lives, desiring to equip the saints, to warn and teach and to love as He has loved us.
Jack and Ellen Kalf, Elder
Jack and Ellen became Christians in 1976, with Ellen being baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1976 and Jack in 1977. They have 6 married children and 24 grandchildren. They have always been involved in different churches over the years, and became involved with ACCF in 1993, where they have both been involved since.
Bruce and Janice Preston, Deacon
Bruce grew up in a Christian home and became a Christian at the age of 5. Janice became a Christian at the age of 17. They have been married for 44 years, and have 4 sons and 13 grandchildren. Both Bruce and Janice have been involved in the local church, serving in such areas as sound technician, family camp coordinators, Sunday school teacher, deacon, and various other areas. After spending all of their married life in the Lower Mainland, they moved to Enderby in 2021 and quickly became involved in Ashton Creek Fellowship. They have a desire to see local church members grow in their relationships with God through teaching from His word, through worship, and rich fellowship.
Michael and Anna Deepwell, Deacon
Michael and Anna both grew up in the Greater Vancouver area. In 2021 they moved out of the city to the outskirts of Enderby, and found ACCF their first Sunday. From the very first visit, it felt like home to them and they've loved being a part of this church family ever since.
When Michael & Anna chose to move to the Enderby area, they had no idea there was a Salt & Light church in the area and they were so excited to find Ashton Creek and see God's hand in leading them to this community.
Michael grew up in a Christian family, gave his life to the Lord at a young age, and was baptized at age 12. He has always loved serving in the church and served in almost every possible area in the church he grew up at, Pilgrim Baptist Church in Vancouver.
Anna also grew up in a Christian family, attending West Coast Christian Fellowship as a child, which is also part of Salt & Light. She gave her life to the Lord at a young age and was baptized at age 11.
They got married in 2011 and are very thankful to the Lord for the blessing of three children, after struggling with infertility. Michael runs an accounting and financial planning practice, and Anna runs a neurofeedback practice. They homeschool their children and are attempting to start a homestead farm in their spare time (insert laughter here!)
Their desire is to see the community of Ashton Creek, Enderby, and beyond, changed by the power of the Holy Spirit. They love to learn about God through His Word, worship Him, and serve their community with their church family.
